Title: Retrospection and Reflection of Visualized Analysis on Chinese-English Translation of Public Signs

Abstract: According to 236 public sign-related papers from CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure) from 2002 to 2017, this paper concludes the research trend and status quo of C-E Translation of public signs over the past 15 years through Cite space-based research on quantitative statistics and the co-occurrence network of keywords. The clusters in keyword knowledge mapping are classified into four categories: the text types and functions, the translation methods and theories, the mistakes and reasons in C-E translation, and the standards and management of public signs. These categories are respectively addressed in this essay, so problems that occurr in the progress of C-E translation of public signs can be solved. Advice is also provided to promote future research on these issues, and the standardized use of English in public service areas.
