Title: An Embodied-Cognitive Linguistic Study on Ways of Chinese Images

Abstract: Image is often involved in language use, however, the language image is not easy to generate, comprehend and appreciate. A further linguistic study on the Chinese image helps to their generation, comprehension, appreciation, application, and utterance innovation. This article, under the guidance of Concept Frame, Conceptual Metaphor and Metonymy, explores ways of Chinese images6 in all which are as follows: a word or sentence as the source domain, a word or sentence as the target domain which is projected, a word metonymy, a word metonymy after the realization of verbal parallelism, event sentence as the source domain after a word metonymy, a word as the source domain after being used as a metonymy. The only one way of the Chinese image is the operation of metaphor, metonymy or metaphor with metonymy involved in depending upon the Chinese culture.
