Title: Current Situation and Trend of International Communication Research on China’s Image

Abstract: With the continuous enhancement of China’s comprehensive national strength and the continuous expansion of its international influence, it is of increasing practical significance to show the world a true, multi-dimensional and comprehensive image of China. To promote the research on China’s image construction and international communication, this paper uses the visual literature analysis software CiteSpace to conduct quantitative analysis of related research. The current state of research is summarized from the aspects of the change trend of publication volume, the disciplinary characteristics of the publications, author-institution co-occurrence map and keyword co-occurrence map, and it points out the shortcomings of existing research. The development trend of China’s image construction and international communication is summarized from three aspects, i.e., strengthening basic theoretical research, integrating a new generation of information technology, and strengthening interdisciplinary research.
