Title: Study on the Translation of Legends of the Condor Heroes I: A Hero Born in the English World

Abstract: The publication of Legends of the Condor Heroes I: A Hero Born has attracted people’s attention to Wuxia fiction once again, which in turn has triggered discussions in academic circles on the English translation of Louis Cha’s novels and their specific cultural backgrounds. By comparing the reader evaluations and sales rankings on the Goodreads website with the four English versions of Louis Cha’s novels on Amazon’s official website, this paper tries to find out the reasons why Legends of the Condor Heroes I: A Hero Born has attracted so much attention from the perspective of translation. The successful experience of Legends of the Condor Heroes I: A Hero Born’s dissemination in the English world can be used as a reference for the translation and dissemination of Wuxia fiction and Chinese literature.
