Title: Critical Dialogue and the Construction of Oriental Studies in China
Abstract: There are rich and substantive research achievements in the Oriental (Eastern) studies in China, but at present, Oriental studies has not been recognized as an independent discipline. The diversity of oriental culture, the research achievements of oriental studies in China and the relationship between Chinese and western oriental studies serve as the theoretical basis for the application of critical dialogue to China’s Oriental studies. As an open, positive and equal way of thinking, critical dialogue has a methodological significance in the construction of Oriental studies in China, which invites further discussion on the Chinese characteristics of Oriental studies in the academic circles.
