Title: On Translation of Chinese Online Literature and Chinese Strategies of Cultural Globalization
Abstract: In the late 2016, there comes a translation platform named “Wuxiaworld” (wuxiaworld.com) mainly in responsible for translating Chinese online Xianxia and Xuanhuan novels into English for foreign readers, which has attracted attention by numerous domestic mainstream media. At present,translating Chinese online literature enjoys a sound development momentum, which to some extent will exert positive influence on facilitating communication between China and foreign countries, disseminating Chinese culture and promoting a better implementation of “going global” strategies of Chinese culture. This paper cites “Wuxiaworld” as an example, introducing its current development situation, focusing on applying the five elements of communication model and the theory of Hermeneutic Motion of George Steiner, citing reasonable translating examples from “Wuxiaworld”, and tries to figure out and summarize the advantages of online literature under certain cultural communication conditions.
