Title: The Classical Aesthetic Features of Translation Studies in China

Abstract: Since the end of the 1980s, the appeal of Chinese translatology for international academic communication has continued to grow. The construction of translational theory with Chinese characteristics has become an important proposition for the new era. Looking back on the development of translation studies, the unique aesthetic character and ideals of China originated in Chinese classical aesthetics have inspired new theories. Based on traditional life philosophies such as harmony and integrity between human beings and nature, a number of local Chinese translation theories, such as Compositional Translation Studies, Harmonizing Heterogenesis Translatology, Yi-Translatology, and Eco-Translatology have inherited Chinese aesthetic traditions and broken through the Western-centralized model, thus bringing about a research paradigm shift and inviting further participation in international translation studies while promoting the classic beauty of Chinese translatology.

Keywords: translation theory, classical aesthetics, modern interpretation, Chinese translatology
