Title: A Study on the Translators’ Technical Practical Competence in the AI Era

Abstract: Translators’ technical practical competence is the technical ability that translators should have when they are engaged in translation practice. The translation technology in the era of artificial intelligence (AI) has a great impact on translation work and requires translators’ ability of using technologies during their translation process. Based on the research results of Chinese and foreign translation competence and the specific requirements of the technical application ability of translators in the AI era, the framework of translators’ technical practical competence in the AI era is constructed. A translator’s technical practical competence consists of information technology ability, translation technical ability and translation management technical ability. The framework of translators’ technologies practical competence can help cultivate translators in the AI era and provide a technical perspective for the study of translation competence.
